1. Who we are

NestBonus (nestbonus.com) is a community platform that helps renters in Los Angeles find apartment referral bonuses and move-in specials, and split them with other renters. We are not a real estate brokerage or property management company.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: email address and password (hashed) when you sign up, or name and email from Google OAuth.
• Deal listings: building name, address, bonus amount, description, and optional proof URLs you submit.
• Match activity: match requests, chat messages, and split agreements between users.
• Usage data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and analytics.

3. How we use your information

• To operate the platform and enable deal listings and match requests.
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, match notifications) via Resend.
• To moderate content and prevent abuse.
• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
• We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS for all connections. Building images are cached via Supabase Storage.

5. Third-party services

• Supabase — authentication and database
• Google OAuth — optional sign-in
• Google Places API — building photos
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Vercel — hosting and edge functions

Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

6. Cookies

We use cookies solely for authentication sessions (set by Supabase). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Your rights

• Access: you can view your data in your dashboard at any time.
• Deletion: you can delete your deals from the dashboard. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at notify@nestbonus.com.
• Correction: contact us to correct any inaccurate data.

8. Children

NestBonus is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify users of significant changes via email or a notice on the site. Continued use of NestBonus after changes constitutes acceptance.
